He's a real original, absolutely himself and no one else. He's got that particular turn of caricature which shows inner knowledge - he knows what it's like from the inside ... the most astonishing thing about him is the standard he's kept up with the pocket cartoons over the years. Really there were no pocket cartoons till he invented them. Now they're so commonplace we tend to forget how original the idea was when he began it.
